Emoji as page icons

Notion lets you set an emoji as the icon for any page, which then shows up in the sidebar and any link to that page — a quick way to make a workspace easier to scan visually rather than reading every page title.

Opening Notion's built-in picker

Clicking the icon area at the top of a blank or existing page opens Notion's own emoji picker, searchable by keyword, with recently used emoji saved for quick reuse.

Using emoji inside page content

Beyond page icons, typing a colon and a keyword inside Notion's text editor triggers an emoji autocomplete menu, similar to Slack and Discord's shortcode system, for adding emoji directly into notes and bullet points.
